Simone Tiberti, former captain and longtime face of the Tucani, with whom he finished his setter career last May, remains at the forefront of the city’s volleyball scene and will be the assistant coach of Consoli Sferc Centrale del Latte Brescia.
He will be on the court, but on the bench, alongside Roberto Zambonardi, who says he is enthusiastic about the new direction. “I’m sure Simone will be a valuable addition to the group, because he brings thirty years of playing experience and an undeniable technical background to the team, further strengthening our staff.”

Tiberti’s playing career is well-known and studded with successes: recent successes with Atlantide include two Italian Cups and a Super Cup in the last two seasons, as well as two promotion finals and numerous MVP awards in the ten years he wore the white-and-blue jersey. Before returning to Brescia, he was instrumental in four promotions to Serie A1 with Trieste in 2003, Santa Croce in 2005, Padova in 2011, and Monza in 2014, winning the 2005 Serie A2 Italian Cup and the Serie B Cup in 2001.

For an athlete like him, the thought of not being in the back of the net in October is a delicate moment: “My career as a player at Atlantide has reached a point where it couldn’t go any further, and it was right to end that cycle.”
