Two more years together. After captain Sperandio, Delta Volley Porto Viro has also confirmed its vice-captain: Davide Morgese’s contract has officially been renewed. The libero, born in 1996 and standing 172 centimeters tall, will be playing for the black-and-fuchsia team for two more seasons, until 2028.
It’s a matter of continuity, a matter of certainty. In the last Credem Banca Serie A2 championship, as in the previous two seasons with Delta Volley Porto Viro, Morgese was the undisputed leader of the Polesine second line, recording 194 perfect receptions (33.5% of his shots in this fundamental) in 29 appearances and 151 sets played between the Regular Season and Playoffs. The defensive contribution of the Montecchio Emilia-based “Uomo Ragno” was also crucial, capable, as always, of reviving seemingly lost plays thanks to prodigious coverage and recoveries.
Morgese has played a total of 12 Serie A2 seasons in his career, racking up 345 appearances and 2,130 perfect receptions (33.9%). His resume includes winning the Coppa Italia and the 2022 playoffs, which he secured in Reggio Emilia alongside newcomer Diego Cantagalli.
These are the words of the libero from Emilia after extending his contract with Delta Volley: “I’m very happy to have renewed, because I feel really good here. The club has never let us go without anything, and even outside of volleyball, I’ve found an environment where I feel at home. After three years, my relationships with the locals have grown significantly: I know many people from whom I feel affection and support, and this makes Porto Viro feel like a familiar place. It’s not a given that I find an environment like this.”
