The first-ever SuperLega Credem Banca match between MA Acqua S.Bernardo Cuneo and Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza rewarded the character of the red and white team, who, down two sets, managed to come back from behind to win the tie-break, with the decisive point scored by Gianluca Galassi (blocking) that sent the Emilian team’s fans into a frenzy. The MVP of the match was awarded to Piacenza’s Turkish spiker, Efe Mandiraci, who finished with a total of 18 points. The top scorer award, however, went to Cuneo’s opposite hitter Nathan Feral, who managed to score 22 points over the course of the five sets played. For MA Acqua S.Bernardo, Lorenzo Codarin (11), Marko Sedlacek (12) and Ivan Zaytsev (10) also scored double figures. Among Piacenza’s players, Henri Leon, who came on during the second set and remained on the court for the entire match, put in positive scoring performances. The Frenchman scored 12 points, while Robertlandy Simon (11 sets with 4 blocks) and Josè Gutierrez also scored. The Cuban, who came on during the match, finished with 11 total points. The two teams are still moving up their respective standings and are now tied at 5 points.
