Jacopo Tosti, a shining talent in Italian youth volleyball and a member of Cisterna Volley for several seasons, has been selected by coach Francesco Conci to compete in the Under-19 World Championship, scheduled for July 24th to August 4th in Uzbekistan. This marks a new, important milestone for the Roman middle blocker, born in 2008, who continues to accelerate his steadily rising career.

Producing in the Marino Pallavolo youth system, Tosti has had a season to remember: his debut in the Credem Banca Superleague for Cisterna – which came in the fifth-place playoffs against Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina – made him the youngest player in the history of the Pontine club to debut in the top division. Now, the World Championship arrives after spending last summer as a key player in the Under-17 (World Champion) and Under-18 national teams, he is ready to continue his development with the Azzurri in a top-level competition.

“The ambitions are high, as is natural after what we did last year, but I know how difficult it is to confirm myself,” says Jacopo Tosti. “For me, my second year will be a very formative experience, with a group also made up of older guys: the goal is to try to earn a starting spot and give my all for the team.
