Just under two weeks until the first official start of Trentino Volley’s 2025/26 men’s season. Preseason training for Itas Trentino, the Italian champions, is scheduled to begin on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 19th at the BTS Arena in Trento, and will inevitably be a very limited one.
With ten players from the new roster and head coach Marcelo Mendez busy with their respective national teams ahead of the World Championship in September, only four players will begin training: setter Alessandro Acquarone, spiker Alessandro Bristot, libero Nicola Pesaresi, and the young middle blocker Leonardo Sandu, promoted from the Youth Sector. Alongside them until the end of September, to bolster both their numbers and their quality, there will be a dozen junior players from the roster that will once again compete in the Serie B Championship as UniTrento Volley starting in October.
While Mendez waits, the coaching staff leading the training sessions will already be complete, consisting of Assistant Coach Adriano Di Pinto, Scouts Fabio Dalla Fina and Stefano Coser, Physiotherapist Luca Pirani, Athletic Trainer Davide Grigoletto, Team Manager Riccardo Michieletto, Team Physician Mauro Bertoluzza, and Nutritionist Alfonso Presutto. They will also be joined by Luca Mazzola and Fabio Tarantino, Athletic Trainer and Physiotherapist, respectively, for UniTrento Volley.
