After an extraordinary season, the captain of Domotek Volley, Domenico Laganà, emotionally looks back on a year full of successes, sacrifices and an incredible harmony with the city.
One step away from A2, with a fabulous audience that is always growing and an incredible impact on the city.
How are you after the semifinal? “Today definitely much better. They were intense days after game 3, with a bit of bitterness because I think we deserved something more. But in the end the field is the only judge: we gave it our all, but AquiTerme was the most complete and “healthy” team, and deserves to play the final.”
You made Reggio Calabria fall in love, with record audiences and incredible results. Two years ago you were in Serie B…
“Yes, it was an incredible growth. At the beginning we didn’t expect a championship like this, but the beauty of this group is that it was never satisfied. We didn’t set limits for ourselves, we always tried to improve, both as individuals and as a team, thanks also to an exceptional technical staff led by Antonio Polimeni. Getting one step away from the final is a huge achievement.”
Can we say that this was your most exciting year?
“Absolutely yes, the best of my career. From the results on the field to the team atmosphere, but above all from a personal point of view. Balancing work, family and volleyball was not easy, but these satisfactions repay every sacrifice.”
