The policy of small-step growth knows no exceptions at M&G Volleyball School, especially when it comes to the health of its athletes. The historic first Superleague season, which ended a few months ago with an equally historic relegation, demonstrated how the flagship category of Italian volleyball subjects athletes to a high level of physical stress, the result of an extremely tight championship schedule. From this perspective, the upcoming season will further exacerbate this issue, thanks to a regular season lasting less than five months and featuring numerous midweek rounds (five in total).

These circumstances have led Yuasa Battery to reconsider the matter, and the long-standing and well-established partnership with the Montegiorgio-based physiotherapy center Rialab has brought about some interesting developments, as Michele Del Bello, director of the center, emphasizes: “This year, we will have some important changes within the physiotherapy staff, one of which stems from last season’s experience. We will be expanding the staff with a new role, in addition to those already in place. This new addition will be the masseur, a figure we have realized can be crucial in managing certain muscular issues, alleviating muscle pain, and supporting and accelerating functional recovery.”
