This morning, the press conference introducing the Del Monte® Coppa Italia A3 Final Four, scheduled for March 7th and 8th at the VHV Arena in Belluno, was held in the Council Chamber of the Belluno Municipality (Piazza del Duomo, 1 – Belluno).

Below are the statements from the press conference.

Oscar De Pellegrin (Mayor of Belluno): “This region is certainly suited to hosting such important and high-profile events. Team organization has allowed us to host the Coppa Italia A3 Final Four. We are grateful for the efforts Pallavolo Belluno is making to ensure the event is optimally organized. This weekend will allow a “piece” of Italy to visit our region, combining economic and sporting aspects. The venue will be the VHV Arena, our sports hall: a sports hall that is currently undergoing a renovation project and which we hope will be renovated.”

Massimo Righi (President of the Lega Pallavolo Serie A): “Belluno has been experiencing significant corporate growth for a couple of years now. Events like this serve as stress tests for clubs, helping them along their growth path. They also help ensure the event is both technically significant and focused on promoting the local area and developing young players. One of the themes of our events is to raise awareness and have positive impacts on the local communities. This event will enjoy excellent media coverage: our Serie A3 is unparalleled in the world, in the sense that no Federation or League can boast a third division as high-level as ours. We’re pleased with this level, not only in terms of technique, but above all in terms of corporate governance. Volleyball can have a future if it has great corporate structures behind it.”

Fabio Fistetto (CEO of Lega Pallavolo Serie A): “Last year’s event is still fresh in my mind; it was a beautiful moment. The fans filled the city streets, enjoying the beauty of these places. It’s a spectacle that will be repeated this year; from a technical standpoint, we’re trying to give it as much visibility as possible. As in the SuperLega, in this Final Four there will be only one side change, at the end of the second set. Last year, Sorrento managed to win the Coppa Italia and the Serie A3 Supercup, and today they are a solid presence in the Serie A2 Credem Banca championship, demonstrating the importance of this event.”
