A historic victory: Sir Susa Scai Perugia won the 30th edition of the Del Monte® Supercoppa, defeating Rana Verona 3-1 and lifting the trophy for the seventh time in its history. A special triumph for Simone Giannelli (named Del Monte® MVP of the Final) and his teammates, as, after trailing in sets, the Umbrians overturned the result in the fourth set to take home the overall victory in a sold-out PalaTrieste (6,300 spectators), delighting the many Umbrian fans who traveled all the way to Trieste.

A Final that saw some of the world’s best players duel on both sides of the net: Perugia scored double figures for Oleh Plotnytskyi (17), Wassim Ben Tara (16), Kamil Semeniuk (13), and Federico Crosato (11). The final’s top scorer, however, wears the colors of Verona: Darlan finished with 28 points in a thrilling match that, right up until the last ball, seemed poised to deliver victory for either team.
It was also a special victory for Massimo Colaci and Angelo Lorenzetti: the former, a libero from Perugia, became the record holder for most wins among players, securing his ninth trophy and “detaching” Alessandro Fei; the latter, Perugia’s head coach, surpassed the late Dagnele Bagnoli and became the first coach to win the Super Cup six times. The Umbrian club, meanwhile, tied Treviso for most wins: seven in total.
Simone Giannelli, awarded MVP of the Final
Sir Susa Scai Perugia was honored by Massimo Righi (President of the Serie A Volleyball League), Massimo Sala (Vice President of FIPAV), Allegra Boiardi (Marketing Supervisor of Del Monte® International), and Massimiliano Fedriga (President of the Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia).
