A special occasion for a trophy that will go down in history: this morning, the Municipality of Pineto opened the doors of Villa Filiani to ABBA Pineto for the awards ceremony following their victory in the Del Monte® Coppa Italia Serie A2 on February 22nd against Tinet Prata di Pordenone. In the presence of local officials, President Guido Abbondanza, the ABBA Pineto Volley management, and the full roster led by coach Simone Di Tommaso once again celebrated a moment destined to go down in the annals of Abruzzo sports and of a community—that of the city of Pineto—that has always been vibrant with passion for the sport of volleyball.
Hosting the event at Villa Filiani were the Mayor of Pineto Alberto Dell’Orletta and the Municipal Councilor for Sport Camilla Scianitti. Speaking on behalf of the local institutions were the Prefect of Teramo, Fabrizio Stelo, and the Police Commissioner of Teramo, Pasquale Sorgonà. Also present was FIPAV Abruzzo President Mattia Di Gregorio.
ABBA Pineto President Guido Abbondanza: “First of all, I would like to thank the Municipality of Pineto and the Mayor for choosing to honor our club with this very special event. I thank the local institutions, Prefect Stelo, and Police Commissioner Sorgonà, whom I thank not only for their institutional support, but also because I know—and this makes me proud—that they have become fans of our club and volleyball enthusiasts, demonstrating the appeal of what we have built. I thank the team, coach Simone Di Tommaso, and sports director Massimo Forese, who, each through their work, have made it possible to achieve such a prestigious goal, which was anything but a given and has strong ties to the local area.
