A date with history at the Pala Santa Maria. Tomorrow (February 4th), starting at 8:00 PM, ABBA Pineto will face Consar Ravenna in the semifinals of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia Serie A2. This is a one-off match, all in one night: the winner will advance to face the winner of the Tinet Prata di Pordenone vs. Gruppo Consoli Sferc Brescia final on February 22nd.
Pineto and Ravenna are facing each other for the second time this season. Their previous league match dates back to January 4th, the final match of the first half of the season, with a 3-1 victory for the white-and-blues. Tomorrow, exactly one month later, the Palavolley will once again be the venue, where ABBA will be looking for a historic achievement for Abruzzo volleyball. The match comes three days after the championship matches played over the weekend, with coach Simone Di Tommaso’s team coming off a tie-break defeat against Brescia (3-2; 17 points for Krauchuk) and Ravenna who instead put on a show of strength by defeating Aversa 3-0 (with 15 points from Zlatanov).
