The Padova-Civitanova alliance brings another high-quality signing to the Italian runners-up ahead of the 2026/27 season. A.S. Volley Lube announces the signing of former Sonepar player Davide Gardini, a 205 cm tall spiker born in 1999 and a native of Montebelluna, in the province of Treviso. His father, Andrea, coach of Galatasaray HDI Istanbul, was one of the most successful volleyball players in Italian history.
Davide’s arrival represents a homecoming, as when he was part of the Club Italia project, he was a Lube player, even appearing in national finals with the youth team of the Marche-based club.
The Treviso-born giant stood out from a young age, attracting the interest of the federation and becoming a key player for Club Italia in Serie B and A2. Subsequently, his stints in the United States with Brigham Young University (BYU) between 2017 and 2022 allowed him to mature both technically and competitively, winning two MPSF titles. From there, he returned to Italy and landed in the SuperLega. Between 2022 and 2024, Davide played for Padova, before being signed by Allianz Milano for the 2024/25 season. Last season, Gardini returned to Padova, the team with which he finished the SuperLega season in the 5th-place playoff quarterfinals.
