Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza announces the agreement with American middle blocker Merrick McHenry, who will wear the red and white jersey for the next two seasons.
Born in Bedford in 2000, Merrick McHenry spent his entire college career at the prestigious UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles), where he played in the NCAA Division I championship until 2024, winning two consecutive national titles and earning numerous individual awards. After missing the 2020 season, he established himself as one of the best middle blockers in the US college scene with the Bruins.
A physically and athletic middle blocker with significant experience in the US and French leagues, McHenry is a solid blocker with a strong offensive impact. He will strengthen the middle blocking department by bringing his technical skills and a strong competitive mentality to the team.
In the 2024-2025 season, McHenry began his professional career in Europe, playing in the French Ligue A with Nice Volley-Ball, standing out for his physicality, blocking ability and consistency of performance.
