Born in 2006, middle blocker Riccardo Aretz will play center for Campi Reali Cantù. He began his volleyball career in Desio, where he met his future team, before moving to the Diavoli Rosa, where he made his Serie A3 Credem Banca debut. Last season, he continued his career in the third national division with EnergyTime Campobasso.
Coach Tommaso Invernici commented on the confirmation: “Riccardo was one of the first to believe in this project. Those who know him describe him as a great guy and a hard worker. These are the qualities needed in a team that must learn to know itself through training.”
These are the player’s own words: “I played last season in Campobasso, and when my agent and I talked about Cantù, which is very close to home, I thought I’d like to get a little closer. I’d already faced Libertas as an opponent in the youth academy, since I started playing in Desio, and we were always ‘clashing heads.’ Everyone spoke highly of the atmosphere and the club, so I decided to embark on this journey. Plus, I know many of the guys on next year’s team, having played with or against them. On a personal level, I’m really eager to grow, so I have many goals in terms of my playing career.
