“For his leadership, determination, and his white-and-blue heart”: these were the reasons behind the award given to ErmGroup Altotevere captain, setter Jacopo Biffi, during the end-of-season dinner held on the evening of Thursday, May 7th in Citerna. The faithful supporters presented the trophy to the Lombard player, who has been the team’s director for three seasons. “Without a doubt,” Biffi himself commented, “it’s a gratifying recognition, because it means that everyone (not just me) has managed to make the locals feel what volleyball means in San Giustino. It’s a gesture that made me feel satisfied with the work done in the gym, but above all, it’s a human reward. Even my parents always tell me: a good person is better than a good player. It’s a sign of a journey I’m on as a person, and a good person remains in the memories of a season, like the one that just ended for us. The human level surpasses the technical level.” Three years that for him were crucial in his overall growth. “I arrived here in the summer of 2023 on tiptoe, then perhaps I pushed myself a little too hard, but with the great commitment of the staff and teammates during this period, I believe I have reached the maximum maturity possible as a player, and so I’m happy.” Certainly, being appointed team captain has facilitated his development.
