Two days after Sir Susa Scai Perugia won the Scudetto, their third in their history, and the conclusion of a SuperLega Credem Banca playoff campaign that saw the Block Devils win all nine of their matches.

Gino Sirci (President of Sir Susa Scai Perugia): “Let’s enjoy this victory, which coincides with the Treble, following the victories in the Super Cup and the Club World Cup. The Scudetto is an extremely important and prestigious achievement. In terms of intensity, length, difficulty, and unpredictability, this is a great achievement.”

Angelo Lorenzetti (Coach of Sir Susa Scai Perugia): “A tremendous joy that I want to share with those who were there a year ago: that day passed in silence, without a sound. A journey that began from that moment, from our elimination in the semifinals. From there, we started again, changing; a difficult group from a interpersonal standpoint, but on the pitch they work hard, and I’m happy.

Simone Giannelli (Sir Susa Scai Perugia): “This victory reflects a year of daily routine. We were consistent, playing well despite injuries and difficulties. I thank the team; it wasn’t consistent. I’m grateful to have shared a year like this with people like that. We were interested in winning, no matter how: we played well, improving compared to last year. We learned from that evening in the semifinals, and this year it showed.”

Oleh Plotnytskyi (Sir Susa Scai Perugia): “A victory I put first: it came at home, with fans like that: it was beautiful. For the atmosphere and the fans, it’s the most important success for me. We never leave anything untried, even when the opponent, like in this case Civitanova, played very well.

Yuki Ishikawa: “I’m so happy to have won the Scudetto against a very strong team. This victory is important for my career, but my life goes on: we’ll see what happens.

Sebastian Solé: “It was truly beautiful: at a certain point, we were afraid the Scudetto was slipping away, but we managed to pull ourselves together. To win a Scudetto on home soil, against a great team like Civitanova, is truly special.

Massimo Colaci (Sir Susa Scai Perugia): “The best thing was lifting this trophy in front of our fans. I hoped it would go like this; it was a perfect closing of the circle. I thank everyone who trusted me with the Credem Banca MVP award of the Finals, even though I think Ben Tara really delivered top-notch performances in these three matches. The first set and a half was a struggle; we expected it.
