Sometimes the fates of an athlete and a club are destined to cross more than once. And after their experience together in the 2023/2024 season, the paths of Rinascita Volley Lagonegro and Leonardo Caletti are reuniting. The libero from Varese is the new addition to the red and white second line for the 2026/2027 Credem Banca Serie A2 championship.
Born in 2000, Caletti played alongside captain Nicola Fortunato in Rinascita’s first season in Serie A3. It was an intense year, culminating in the team reaching the playoff quarterfinals, where Lagonegro lost to San Donà di Piave. Twelve months that also marked the libero’s debut in the Serie A championship and have left lasting memories for both sides.
Having trained with Yaka Volley Malnate, in the province of Varese, Caletti—after moving to Basilicata—continued his career with two consecutive important experiences in Serie A2. First in Cantù, where he served as second libero, then in Catania in the recently concluded season, alternating consistently and with personality with the experienced Peppino Carbone.
