Just one year in the blue and white (although, as a libero, his jersey was white and red with horizontal stripes), but certainly not a transitional season for him. Leonardo Chiella, who turns 20 next September, will also continue his experience in the Serie A3 Credem Banca championship, not with ErmGroup Altotevere. The Grosseto native has consistently alternated positions with Filippo Pochini, playing as a receiver, and filling in when needed on defense. “For me, it was a year of growth and experience, albeit with ups and downs,” Chiella said, “which nonetheless left me with a lot in my still brief career as an athlete. A year in which, all things considered, the satisfactions far outweighed the disappointments, not to mention the team’s impressive results.” Reinforcing this sentiment is his use in every match, from the first to the last. “I’ll be honest: I never imagined I’d play all the time, nor was it a given that they’d rely on a young player. The club gave me this great opportunity to come in whenever they needed to defend, and I’m truly grateful for that.”
