With Game 3 of the promotion playoff over, which saw Conad secure a resounding 3-0 victory in front of the PalaBigi crowd, the Reggio Emilia team is now ready to travel to Calabria to play for the first match point of the series. On Sunday, April 12th, at 6:00 PM, on the pitch of Domotek Reggio Calabria, the Granata will have the chance to seal the deal and secure direct promotion to Serie A2.
It will be anything but an easy match, in a heated and energetic atmosphere, but Conad has already had the opportunity to test the arena and the opposing crowd in Game 2. This experience could prove useful ahead of a match that promises to be a hard-fought one, with every detail being played down.
It will be crucial to start strong from the first points, maintain high intensity, and manage the key moments of the match with clarity. The quality of our serve, solid reception, and effective blocking and defense will once again be key factors, as will the ability to stay united in difficult moments. In matches of this caliber, it’s often the details that make the difference.
These are the words of the players who presented the match.
Riccardo Mazzon: “Being down in the second set and still managing to win point after point gave us a huge boost, which was then evident in the third. We started aggressively there and were able to play more fluidly, managing the set with greater composure. Now we know that Game 4 will be a battle: we’ve already tested their court and know what to expect. We’ll have to take the court with the right mentality, fighting for every ball and trying to win one set at a time without panicking.”
Mattia Catellani: “Our approach to the match was very important: we started with the things we’d worked on during the week and with greater calm, and this allowed us, by gaining confidence, to direct the game the way we wanted. Looking ahead to the next match, it will be crucial to manage our emotions well, starting with the same attitude as in Game 3 and staying focused on what we’ve prepared. We must continue working to have the best possible approach, especially in the opening points.”
