From the toe of the boot to the Dolomites. Domotek Reggio Calabria travels across Italy and, in Belluno, finds the high point of its season. Or rather, of its volleyball history: after eliminating the hosts Belluno Volley in the semifinals, it also defeats Conad Reggio Emilia in the final at the VHV Arena to win the fifth edition of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia A3, at the end of a resounding comeback: from 0-2 (with Reggio dominance in the first two sets) to 3-2. There is truly something symbolic about this victory: the Dolomites on one side, the Strait of Messina on the other. Opposite ends of the peninsula. And yet, it is precisely in the shadow of the Veneto mountains, home to the Winter Olympics and Paralympics, that the Calabrian team paints its finest night, transforming a very long away trip into the backdrop of a historic triumph. And a popular celebration. Because, along with the team, its fans also triumphed: colorful, enthusiastic, and festive. Lazzaretto’s 20 points (after 34 in the semifinal) were decisive, along with Laganà’s 18. This victory brings the province of Reggio Calabria back to the top of the Serie A3 volleyball world, two years after OmiFer Palmi’s victory in Fano in 2024.

And above all, the direction of Davide Saitta, awarded Del Monte® MVP of the Final, is Oscar-worthy. Conad Reggio Emilia’s Never Dominated team put in a relentless performance, with Alessandro Mian (27 points, reaching 100 blocks in the category), Martin Chevalier (20), and Nicholas Sighinolfi (11) worthy of applause.
Davide Saitta (Domotek Reggio Calabria): “I’m so happy with this victory, especially considering how the match went. We weren’t on the court for two sets, and we did a good job recovering. We told ourselves to take the sets step by step, and we did; we plucked up courage, and once we got to the tie-break, we pushed until the end. Our fans are always with us; they’re our extra man, and we dedicate this victory to them too. The MVP award is always a pleasure and shows that I’m enjoying myself.”
Nicholas Sighinolfi (Conad Reggio Emilia): “It was a wonderful match, honor to the winners; we gave everything we had. An incredible weekend: it’s a good starting point if we find ourselves in the Promotion Playoff. We played a high-level game in the first two sets, and they did a good job of recovering when we slumped.”
