Continuity means picking up where the past left off, with the same ambition as always. Pallavolo Macerata is proud to announce the first two players for the 2026/2027 season, which will once again see the red and whites competing in the Serie A2 championship.
Let’s start with the confirmations: Romano Giannini and Dylan Leoni will continue to lead the Macerata team. This is an almost natural choice, made after achieving the seasonal goal and especially in light of the growth shown by a group that has proven capable of competing against anyone. Some players may change, but the enthusiasm and desire to work of the two coaches will remain, as they are already focused on the challenges of the future.
Fresh from their experience at the Under-19 National Finals, where they guided the youth team to a historic 11th-place finish in Italy, the two coaches will now take a few weeks of well-deserved rest before returning to work at the Banca Macerata Forum.
“I want to continue learning from Romano, a brilliant and professional coach both in Serie A and in the youth sector. I know I can continue to grow in a stimulating experience and in top-level volleyball,” says assistant coach Dylan Leoni. “We work hard and study every detail to make the difference even in a single point, and that’s the beauty of it. The season just ended was wonderful, and I can’t wait to get started again.”
Romano Giannini, the long-time head coach of the Biancorossi, echoes his sentiments:
“I’m very happy with the renewal. It was partly a possibility already foreseen, but this year’s season has certainly strengthened our mutual desire to continue together. In our environment, there’s always the possibility that clubs and coaches will make different assessments, but that wasn’t the case with us: both the club and I wanted to continue this path and strive for even better results.
