The second Serie A2 match of the season is almost upon us: on Sunday, April 5th, at the PalaVolley S.Maria in Pineto (TE), Abba Pineto and Gruppo Consoli Sferc Brescia will take to the field at 7:00 PM, live on DAZN, for the Del Monte® Supercoppa Serie A2, now in its sixth year.
Simone Di Tommaso (coach Abba Pineto): “It’s an honor to be playing at home for the Del Monte® Supercoppa. We earned the right to compete for this trophy in February by winning the Coppa Italia, and then our league run, finishing first in the Regular Season, has given us the honor of hosting this event in Pineto. It’s a tremendous feeling for us, for the fans, and for the entire community, not just in Pineto, but in all of Abruzzo volleyball. We’ll make sure to savor these feelings as we approach this important event and then, consequently, in Sunday’s match. Brescia is a very strong team, we know, with some important individual players. It’s a team where all the players are top-notch for the Serie A2 championship, some even with extensive SuperLega experience.
Paolo Luigi Di Silvestre (captain Abba Pineto): “Brescia is a top-notch team, with some great players. We weren’t able to get the best start in the two league matches we played against them, and that’s certainly also due to them. They were the only team that managed to beat us here at the Pala S. Maria, and that demonstrates their potential, their value. But in a one-off match, as we know well, anything can happen and predictions are thrown off. We’re playing at home, with our fans who will certainly give us an extra boost, especially in a competition like this. In a match where you’re playing for a trophy, and at home at that, the feeling is positive, and we’re working to be at our best for this match. Is it an honor or a responsibility to play at home? I think it’s both, because they go hand in hand.
Roberto Zambonardi (coach Gruppo Consoli Sferc Brescia): “This will be our third consecutive Del Monte® Supercoppa Final, and we can only be delighted, especially since it comes at the end of an electrifying second half of the season. We’re heading to Abruzzo full of enthusiasm, confident in our abilities and optimistic about our chances of playing well against the top-seeded team, who will also have the advantage of the home field.”
