A daydream. This could be the perfect summary of the atmosphere at Domotek Volley during these hectic hours. After their historic victory in the Coppa Italia Del Monte in Serie A3, captain Domenico Laganà’s team also secured their league lead, securing a playoff final against Conad Reggio Emilia.
Domenico Laganà, fresh from the ritual photos and autographs with the fans, recounts these emotions.
Captain, we’re back after the excitement of the Cup, the arrival at the airport, and now this first-place finish. What’s the atmosphere like?
“It’s beautiful here, with photos and autographs, it’s like a dream. It’s wonderful because we’ve now achieved our goals: the Coppa Italia Del Monte and the league lead. It wasn’t easy at all; we were neck-and-neck with Castellana right from the start. I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate them: we said to the boys that, in any case, whoever finished second should be proud. To finish the championship with only two losses is incredibly difficult, especially considering the strength of the other group. So congratulations to Castellana for second place, and congratulations to us for first place.”
There’s a crazy “volleyball mania” in the city. And in the Laganà household, the excitement is doubled, given that your wife Ilenia is back playing… “It’s true, everyone went crazy! My Ilenia (a new player for the Puliservice in. Femminile) returned to the field on Friday at 6 pm. I have to thank my friend Mister Franco Giglietta for this wonderful gift. I’m very happy. Although now, once the photos and interviews are over, it will be my turn to look after little Antonello. She’s been doing it for a year, it’s only right that I do it now (laughs, ed.)”.
