Late at night, sleep was almost nonexistent, and his head was still full of emotions. Coach Antonio Polimeni, at the helm of Domotek Volley, recently promoted to Serie A2, spoke openly, describing an achievement that goes far beyond a simple sporting result.

“I struggled to sleep, as is right,” Polimeni admits. “But fatigue is the price paid for writing a page in history. “We did something crazy, something incredible,” he emphasizes. “We represented the history not only of Reggio Calabria, but we wrote our name in that of Italian volleyball.”

The Reggio Calabria coach doesn’t mince words when describing the magnitude of the achievement: “A ‘treble’ with the Super Cup, Italian Cup, and promotion that transforms into reality a metaphor so overused in football but perfect for this dream season with a team that has proven to be a united team, both on and off the court,” he explains. “The boys have always given their all, exceeding all expectations.”

On a strictly technical level, Polimeni analyzes the victory against Belluno with the clarity of someone who has planned every detail. “We had to attack a lot with the middle blockers on the side balls, and we did it brilliantly,” he reveals. “We had to free ourselves in certain situations to the pipes they had set up for us. We attacked those spaces very well with the middle blockers: they were both amazing.” The performance was further enhanced by another display of valor from MVP Innocenzi and an excellent team effort. “We did great on the defensive block,” he adds. “We served much better than in other games, taking risks and making a few more mistakes, but it was the right path.”
