The 2026 Credem Banca SuperLega Playoff Final for 5th place kicks off on Friday. In the best-of-three series that guarantees qualification for the 2027 CEV Challenge Cup, Itas Trentino will face Valsa Group Modena. Game 1 is scheduled for May 1st at the BTS Arena in Trento, with kick-off scheduled for 6:00 PM. Live coverage will be available on Radio Dolomiti and live streaming on DAZN and VBTV.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO The yellow-blue team is preparing to play its second final of the season (they also played the Coppa Italia final on February 8th), the first ever in the Playoffs for fifth place, which, however, guarantees a spot in Europe (where they have regularly competed since 2008) during the next competitive season. The Italian champions will face this final without not only Alessandro Michieletto, but also Théo Faure. The lower back strain suffered by the French opposite hitter during last Saturday’s match in Monza will require at least ten days of rest and will force him to miss the entire Finals series against Modena.
“It’s disappointing not to be able to count on a player of Faure’s caliber, who has given so much to the cause throughout the season and who also played his part in the semifinal against Monza, but we have another valuable opposite hitter in Gabi Garcia, and I’m confident we can hold our own until the end,” said Itas Trentino coach Marcelo Mendez, introducing the match. “We’ll be facing a very dangerous team in Modena, who are coming off a great season in which they demonstrated they can play great volleyball. Their serve is certainly their most dangerous skill; therefore, we’ll need to be very good at withstanding its impact with our reception and work well in attacking situations when things are predictable. We want Trentino Volley to play in Europe next season as well, and we’ll do everything we can to achieve this goal.”
