A transfer bombshell for Avimec Modica, which has given coach Enzo Distefano a new opposite hitter of undisputed quality.
The meticulous work of Sporting Director Salvo Monaco, in collaboration with the “Galletti” coach and General Manager Luca Leocata, has brought German Jannis Hopt to the white-and-blues.
A German from Friedrichshafen, the new white-and-blue opposite hitter is a 205-centimeter-tall, 1996-born player who excels in front of goal.
Last season, he played in Serie A2 for Prisma Taranto, where he arrived in January 2025 when the Apulian team was competing in the Superleague. Before arriving in Puglia, Hopt played in Germany for the youth teams of Volley YoungStars Firedrichshafen. He then moved to Serie A with CV Mitteldeuschland in the 2014/2015 season, before moving to United Volleys Rhein – Main and TV Rottenburg in 2018. In 2020, he moved to Helios Grizzlys Gieisen, before moving to Blue Volleys Gotha the following year. His last experience in Germany was with Ceratonia Volleys Eltmann, a team he played with until January 2025, when he moved to Taranto.
