Fifteen seasons in Serie A2 at the highest level: there’s no other way to sum up Matteo Zamagni’s arrival in the Yuasa Battery jersey. Born in Cesena in 1989, Zamagni is coming off a superb season in Pineto, reaching the finals of every category competition with two victories in the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa, and only missing out on promotion in the final to Prata. “Perhaps unexpectedly, we stayed in contention until the end,” says the center-back, “with two trophies resulting from work we’d put in two seasons ago. We worked hard to achieve those results, but with skill and luck, we also overturned difficult situations, arriving in the two cup finals in the best possible shape. In the championship final, however, we were very unlucky; we lost two key players (Krauchuk and Allik, ed.), and the challenge became unequal. I accepted Grottazzolina to relive the same emotions I experienced last season, hopefully with a better ending.”
