With the new arrivals and confirmations on Perugia roster for next season now official, there’s also a confirmation on the club’s coaching staff: Massimiliano Giaccardi will remain in Perugia for the fourth consecutive season!
The Piedmontese coach will work alongside Coach Angelo Lorenzetti again this year, aiming to continue his commitment to working and planning for the athletes: “First of all, I’m very happy to have received this confirmation, especially because it rewards the work done, and therefore it’s a recognition that is truly gratifying and fills me with gratitude. I thank the President and the club for confirming me.”
10 trophies in 3 seasons; Max Giaccardi has won a remarkable haul at Perugia. Since his arrival in the 2023/2024 season, he has worked alongside Angelo Lorenzetti as assistant coach. With him, he led the Block Devils to the historic Poker, in his first year in black and white, sweeping every trophies SIR competed for that season: the Super Cup, the Club World Cup, the Coppa Italia, and the Scudetto. Then last year he enjoyed another unforgettable season, starting with the Super Cup victory and concluding with the club’s first Champions League title. Finally, the season that just ended, the “Grand Slam,” in which SIR made a veritable trophy haul, establishing itself in Italy, Europe, and the world: “Yes, the result is certainly impressive. For me, the importance of this journey is very personal, both from a coaching perspective and from a personal perspective, because over these three years, thanks to the staff I’ve worked with, I’ve certainly made my contribution, but also improved so that, together with everyone else, I can then provide the support this team of great champions needs.”
