The 2026 summer transfer window for Itas Trentino men’s basketball club has been completed with the arrival of libero Riccardo Gollini in the yellow-blue team. He will turn twenty-six in a few days, having been born and raised as a volleyball player in Modena. He will return to the SuperLega courts in Trento, where he has played regularly since he was a youngster with Valsa Group, following a season in Serie A2 in Taranto, where he played regularly.
He has signed a one-year contract and will be the second-string alternative to Gabriele Laurenzano, bringing to the team the experience he gained during five consecutive years in the top flight at PalaPanini, between 2020 and 2025, as assistant to Grebennikov, Rossini, and Federici. During this time, he has found frequent play, as his statistics confirm: 140 games with a 28% perfect reception rate out of 620 shots. He also won a CEV Cup in 2023, in a golden set against Modena on the Roeselare court, playing libero for all four sets.
“It’s a wonderful feeling to be a Trentino Volley player in every respect. I’m honored to have received the call to join this club,” said Riccardo Gollini. “I know the environment well, especially the BTS Arena in Trento, where I’ve played many times as an opponent in recent seasons, albeit only a few times. I’m eager to start training and get involved, working alongside some great players, from whom I can only learn. I’ll try to contribute, especially on defense, the skill I feel most capable of, even though I also improved a lot in my reception during my last year at Taranto in Serie A2. Finding myself back in the SuperLega wearing the Itas Trentino jersey is very exciting.”
