Milano hosts Turkish side Altekma SK Izmir in the first leg of the Semifinals
Allianz Milano will face Turkish side Altekma SK Izmir tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4th, at 8:30 PM, in the first leg of the Challenge Cup Semifinals.
The team led by Roberto Piazza arrives at the European event strong from their seventh-place finish in the SuperLega Credem Banca regular season and aiming for a win that will boost their bid for the final of the third continental competition, a trophy they already won in 2021. The decisive match for qualification, and therefore for the final, is scheduled for Thursday, March 12th in Turkey.
Reggers and his teammates aim to build on their excellent performances in the Quarterfinals against Polish side Norwid Częstochowa, which proved crucial in securing a spot in the Semifinals. Altekma, however, secured their spot in the top four by defeating Romanian side Zalau after a fiercely contested double-header, resolved only in the Golden Set.
The Turkish starting six also includes familiar faces from the Italian league: Jordan Ewert, who played in the SuperLega last year with Verona, and Ibrahim Lawani, who previously played for Monza and began the 2025/26 season with Taranto in Serie A2.
