It’s the final day of training under the Pian di Massiano stadium for the Block Devils, who will depart tomorrow morning for the Unipol Arena in Bologna.
President Sirci’s team arrives at this event after a fantastic start to the season, winning the Club World Cup in Brazil, their first trophy up for grabs this season. They’re now ready to take to the field with three other top Superleague teams for the first Italian trophy of the year.
Simone Giannelli: “It’s wonderful to be part of these events, because we’ve obviously had a great run here, both in the league, due to the qualification rules, and thanks to the game we played here at home against Civitanova in the quarterfinals. Being present at these competitions is never a given, as I always say, so first and foremost, we’re happy to be going to Bologna and being part of this Final Four. We earned it on the field.” We must never forget how we get to these events, we earned it by playing a very good game at home against Civitanova, a one-off match that we could have lost because we played against a very high-level team.”
