Construction is nearing completion in Alseno on the first photovoltaic plant promoted by Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza. This advanced energy infrastructure will power the “Sun Son” Renewable Energy Community (CER), a strategic project focused on environmental sustainability and the local energy transition. Elisabetta Curti is President of Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza, Luca Tosini is President of CER Sun Son, and Michele Granelli is CEO of Voltuna, an ESCo of the Gas Sales Energia Group.

The CER was established with the goal of producing and sharing clean energy through photovoltaic systems installed in various provinces, starting with the Piacenza area. It also aims to reduce energy costs for the sports club and its participating community members, share the environmental and economic benefits with citizens, associations, parishes, businesses, and local institutions, and, last but not least, promote a sustainable culture linked to sport, a concrete example of social responsibility.

It has three objectives. The first is ethical: sharing clean energy; The second is social: involving local associations and the wider region, fostering a sense of community, inclusion, and participation in a sustainable project; the third is financial: seizing the opportunity to self-finance by investing in an innovative and forward-thinking project.

The plant will have a nominal installed power of 1 MWp (megawatt peak) and will be built using ground-mounted photovoltaic technology, with appropriate environmental mitigation measures, over a surface area of approximately 12,000 square meters and composed of over 1,664 high-efficiency bifacial modules, installed on fixed structures and facing south.
