Draws for the European club competitions are underway in Luxembourg. For the second consecutive year, Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza will be competing in the CEV Volleyball Cup, the second continental trophy. The red-and-white team, winners of the last edition, will be participating thanks to their fourth-place finish in the 2026 SuperLega Credem Banca Scudetto Playoffs.
The tournament will kick off in November with the round of 32 matches and conclude in April 2027, with seven double-leg rounds (home and away), including the final. Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza will begin its campaign in the Round of 32, the same round at which the teams eliminated in the first three preliminary rounds of the Champions League will also advance to the tournament.
In the Round of 32, Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza will face a team from the Champions League: the loser of the 07/08 Champions League first-round match between Dutch team Orions Stars Doetinchem and Macedonian team UGD Stip STIP, who will have a bye in the CEV Volleyball Cup round of 32. The first leg will be played between December 8th and 10th, with the second leg between January 5th and 7th, 2027.
From this edition onwards, a win in both matches, regardless of the score, will be required to advance to the next round. If either team wins, regardless of the score, the Golden Set will decide the team’s progress.
