Vero Volley Monza secured its second win in just a few days, securing a spot in the Playoff Semifinals for 5th Place at Credem Banca thanks to an away win against Sonepar Padova. Diego Frascio (19) and Erik Rohrs (9) stood out at the Kioene Arena, home of the Padua team. Veljko Masulovic (8) and Davide Gardini (8) finished as top scorers for the Padua team. The season ends here for Padua, while Monza prepares for the Semifinals: facing Massimo Eccheli’s team will be Itas Trentino, who finished their Scudetto chase in the quarterfinals and are aiming to secure a spot in the Challenge Cup.

The sporting battle on the Pontine plains (over two hours of play) rewarded Allianz Milano, who, coming from behind, prevailed over the hosts Cisterna Volley and thus qualified for the Playoff Semifinals for 5th Place. A match between Modena and Cuneo awaits. After losing the first set in deuce, the Milanese team prevailed in the next three sets, securing the victory and advancing to the next round. Highlights for Roberto Piazza’s team included Ferre Reggers’ 23 points, the night’s top scorer; Tatsunori Otsuka also scored in double figures (14). Worthy of note for the Pontine team was Jacopo Tosti, a middle blocker, who scored 11 points (a career-high for him in SuperLega); Daniele Mazzone (15) matched his best performance ever in the division, as did Efe Bayram (19).

At 8:30 PM tomorrow, Thursday, April 9th, it’s time for MA Acqua S.Bernardo Cuneo vs. Valsa Group Modena: the yellow team will be looking to close out the match and advance to the semifinals, while the Piedmontese team will be looking to reopen the series.
