Rana Verona is pleased to announce the signing of Simone Anzani, who will join the first team starting from the 2026/2027 season. A middle blocker with a long tenure in the Italian national team and one of the most experienced and decorated players in Italian volleyball, Anzani completes the squad’s middle-blocker lineup.
Born in Como on February 24, 1992, and standing 203 cm tall, the middle blocker boasts a prestigious list of achievements: three Italian League titles, three Italian Cups, two Italian Super Cups, a Club World Championship, and a Challenge Cup at the club level. He also achieved great success wearing the *Azzurri* jersey, playing a pivotal role in recent Italian volleyball history by winning the European Championship in 2021 and the World Championships in 2022 and 2025. Following the World Championship triumph in the Philippines, he concluded his journey with the national team, ending his international career with 211 caps. A product of the Sisley Treviso youth academy, Anzani took his first steps in Serie A2 with Loreto and Sora before establishing himself in the top flight. Between 2013 and 2017, he played four seasons in Verona, a period that marked a significant phase of his professional development. Subsequently, he played for Perugia, Modena, and Civitanova, before returning to Modena for the last two seasons.
