With the match against Abba Pineto behind them and the fatigue of a very intense week behind them, Rinascita Volley Lagonegro met yesterday morning at Villa d’Agri to begin preparations for the trip to Santa Croce, where they will face Emma Villas Codyeco Lupi Siena on Sunday, March 15th, in the tenth round of the Serie A2 Credem Banca regular season.
The resumption of training came after a day of rest granted by the coaching staff, necessary to eliminate the physical and mental burden left by the mini-series of three matches in seven days, which concluded with the long marathon (almost three hours of play) against the Abruzzo team. The match left mixed feelings: on the one hand, regret for a victory that slipped away when it seemed within reach, on the other, the knowledge that they played on equal terms against one of the league’s powerhouses, winner of the Coppa Italia and a leading candidate for promotion to the SuperLega.
Coach Waldo Kantor’s boys, in fact, were able to dominate for long stretches of the match, showing quality and character and ultimately managing to move up the standings with a point that, in the final balance of the season, could prove to be anything but marginal.
