Next Sunday (March 1), at 6:00 PM, Viridex Sabaudia will play at the Taraflex stadium in Tricase against Aurispa DFV Lecce, on the penultimate day of the regular season of the Credem Banca men’s Serie A3 volleyball championship. Sporting Director Paolo Torre’s team from Pontine Marshes comes into the match after a rocky run: four consecutive defeats in the previous rounds, against Castellana Grotte, Gioia del Colle, Reggio Calabria, and Modica, had threatened to jeopardize their excellent first half of the season. This was interrupted by a hard-fought tiebreaker victory against Galatone, a crucial victory for regaining confidence and morale.
“Getting a win before a difficult away game like the one against Lecce is important for us to best prepare for the match,” explains coach Stefano Beltrame. “Returning to work during the week with a lot of optimism is also crucial because the match that awaits us in Puglia is an important match for the playoffs. We’re also facing a well-organized team that plays excellent volleyball at home. After a series of losses, we’ve returned to winning ways and have begun to find some positivity and serenity again: this should only help us improve from here on out to finish the season on a high note. We enjoyed the win on Sunday, and now we’re focusing on Lecce to try to consolidate the home win against Galatone.
