Following the Coppa Italia A2 quarterfinals, which ended with a 3-0 victory in Pineto, Emma Villas Codyeco Lupi Siena began preparations yesterday for the big match against league leaders Prata di Pordenone. The team completed training and finishing sessions yesterday and today.
Tinet Prata di Pordenone arrives at home top of the table with 35 points and is coming off a 3-0 home win against Aversa. The Tuscan club currently sits in tenth place with 19 points (tied with Fano) and suffered a 3-2 away defeat against Catania on the final day of the season. Picking up points will be crucial for both teams. The home team wants to get back into the playoff race, while the Friulians will be looking for points to consolidate their lead in the standings.
“We definitely need to get some players back,” said spiker Felipe Benavidez. “Unfortunately, we lost so many in a short but busy period. We need to keep working because the second half of the season has just begun, so we need to get into the mindset of bringing home as many points as possible. Now we’re focused on the match against Prata di Pordenone.”
