Six players from Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza have been included in the long list of Italian players who will train ahead of the 2026 Volleyball Nations League, drawn up by coach Ferdinando De Giorgi.

In fact, all the Italian players on the red and white team, except Dragan Travica, are on the list: setter Paolo Porro, middle blockers Francesco Comparoni and Gianluca Galassi, opposite hitter Alessandro Bovolenta, and liberos Domenico Pace and Luca Loreti.

The list of Italian players was announced by coach Ferdinando De Giorghi during the press conference presenting the Italian team’s season, held this morning in Milan. The official announcement of the 30 Italian players for the VNL will be made on May 20th.

The Italian team’s training camp is scheduled for May 11th in Rome, and their VNL debut is scheduled for June 10th in Ottawa, Canada. Before the first stage of the VNL, the Azzurri will play three matches: in Cavalese on May 28th against Turkey, in Verona on May 30th against Belgium, and then in Bergamo on May 31st against Turkey.

After the conclusion of the Volleyball Nations League, the Azzurri will begin the FIPAV CUP MEN ELITE against Germany in Reggio Calabria on August 26th. De Giorgi’s national team will then continue the tournament in Messina (August 28th-30th) against Cuba and Brazil.

After the VNL and the friendly matches, the Azzurri will be called upon to play in the European Championships, scheduled in Italy, Bulgaria, Finland, and Romania from September 10th to 26th.
