Following the confirmations of Orlando Boscardini and Brucini and the arrivals of Mariani and Innocenzi, the new BCC Tecbus Castellana Grotte has secured a fifth spot ahead of the upcoming Credem Banca men’s national A3 series volleyball championship. The confirmation of opposite hitter Nicolò Casaro, born in 1994, who was captain last season, is now official.
This is the club’s most anticipated signing and the 199cm-tall player from Abano Terme is starting his third consecutive season in the yellow-blue jersey: so far, he has made 51 appearances for New Mater, scoring 753 points (averaging nearly 15 points per game), 70 service winners, and 56 blocks.
“We’re starting over with our captain,” commented New Mater Volley’s sporting director, Bruno De Mori. “A player who over the past two years has not only provided technical reliability, but has also proven himself fully integrated into the project, offering the younger players his charisma, experience, poise, and availability. We’re confident that next season he’ll be able to continue to be a guiding light both on the court and in the locker room.”
