Important arrival in the white-and-blues! Blocker Nicolò Volpe was made official during the press conference held late this morning at the Dental Feel headquarters in Cuneo.
Cuneo Volley has added a key player at center; the 2003-born blocker from Turin, coming from Catania’s Serie A2, is in his first season in the SuperLega after a one-game stint as a bench player at Monza in 2022. He is eager to wear the white-and-blue jersey in Italy’s top division.
Sporting Director Paolo Brugiafreddo commented on Nicolò’s signing: “When the termination of Copelli’s contract was looming, we obviously looked around to see who would be the right fit for our group, and we immediately thought of Nicolò, a guy we’ve followed in the past. I personally followed him at a young age when he was still in Piedmont, and I have great respect for his abilities. I know he’ll definitely need a period of adjustment to a championship he’s never played before, but throughout his career he’s always shown that adjustments are his forte because he’s a guy who knows how to be ready when needed. We’re definitely aware that he’ll be a very useful asset during the week and throughout the season as a whole. I extend a warm welcome to him, accompanied by a ‘Finally, we’re here and we’re working together!'”
