Delta Volley Porto Viro has a full opposing team. Following Diego Cantagalli, the black-and-fuchsia team has signed young Alberto Zaghetto, who played his last season at Sav Trebaseleghe in Serie A3, to a contract through 2028. Born in 2004 and standing 197 centimeters tall, the athlete from Camposampiero, in the province of Padua, can also play at the back four: a valuable offensive asset for coach Matteo Bologna.

Zaghetto developed his skills in the youth sector of Astra Volley in San Giorgio in Bosco, where he also took his first steps in the senior ranks. In 2021/2022, after two years of absence due to a knee injury, he was called up to the Padua club’s first team to play in the Serie D championship, which concluded with a promotion to the next division. In the following two Serie C seasons with Astra, he tried his hand at a new position as spiker, then, in 2023/2024, he moved to Silvolley Trebaseleghe in Serie B. Here too, he immediately achieved promotion, making a decisive contribution as an opposite hitter in the second half of the season, particularly in the two-legged playoff against Limbiate.

Reinstated as a spiker on Trebaseleghe’s roster for the 2025/2026 Serie A3 championship, Zaghetto found himself once again playing opposite hitter due to a teammate’s injury. In the Regular Season, he made 15 appearances and scored 40 points, with a personal best of 26 ground balls in the home match of the sixth round of the first half against Savigliano. After finishing the regular season in last place, Trebaseleghe secured survival in the playoffs, recovering from a 0-2 deficit in the series against Mirandola.
