Nicola Zara and Alessio Matteini are the two new faces of BCC Tecbus Castellana Grotte. Sporting Director Bruno De Mori has officially announced two new additions to the roster available to coach Giuseppe Barbone for the upcoming 2026/2027 season, ahead of the upcoming Credem Banca men’s volleyball national series A3 championship.
A 2007 middle blocker (born September 20 in Oristano), Zara, 204 centimeters tall, arrives from Diavoli Rosa Brugherio, a club with which he played the last two seasons in the A3 and B series. With the national Under-17 team, Zara also won the 2023 European Championship title and the Wevza tournament, a qualifying tournament for the European Championships, where he was named best middle blocker.
A striker born in 2005 (on April 15th in Prato), 195 centimeters tall, Matteini arrives from Emma Villas Codyeco Lupi Siena, a Serie A2 club, where he arrived via Kemas Lamipel Santa Croce, a club with which he played in the Serie A2 and Serie B championships from 2023 to 2025 (earning promotion from Serie B to Serie A3).
