After five seasons, the paths of Campi Reali Cantù and Coach Alessio Zingoni are parting ways. The Tuscan coach, who arrived on the Cantù bench as assistant to Coach Matteo Battocchio in the summer of 2021, concluded his tenure behind the bell tower of San Paolo after more than 100 coaching roles in the second national division. He also served as Technical Director of the Youth Sector at President Ambrogio Molteni’s club, invigorating the team and attracting an ever-increasing number of young players to the various age groups.
WORDS FROM PRESIDENT AMBROGIO MOLTENI
After five years in Cantù, the relationship between Libertas Brianza and Alessio Zingoni, who served as Assistant Coach for four years and, last year, Head Coach of our Serie A2 team Credem Banca, has ended.
I sincerely thank Alessio for his significant contribution to the development of our club, and in particular for having virtually rebuilt our entire team. The youth sector, which will now continue under the direction of Fulvio Roncoroni, this year
his Assistant Coach in Credem Banca’s Serie A2, a sector that includes all youth teams and is the only one of its kind in our province.
I wish Alessio the best of luck for his future, given his young age, hoping he can achieve the success he so richly deserves.
WORDS FROM COACH ALESSIO ZINGONI
Libertas was the place where I realized three dreams: gaining coaching experience away from home, managing a youth sector, and coaching as a Head Coach in Serie A. All three dreams were kept in the drawer since I received my first coaching license at 18.
For this, I would like to thank Ambrogio and the rest of the ownership for the enormous opportunities offered. Here, I felt at home and achieved other dreams, probably unexpected ones: being able to convey a working method and building strong human connections with people across the board, even beyond the field.
I think I can objectively admit that no one in these five years has worked harder than I have to try to improve the place that welcomed me, and at the same time, the personal disappointment of not having been able to achieve a difficult goal this last season is great.
