The words of spiker Enrico Lazzaretto describe the emotion of a match that has entered the club’s history:
“A beautiful moment, a historic moment: semifinal and great victory in Lecce. Probably not everyone believed in it or believed in it until the end, but we continued ball after ball. What kind of match was it? Well, it was tough. Only a few of us believed in it… especially you? I certainly did, as always! A bit like Marco Soncini, he always believes in it. But inside, in my opinion, we all believed in it a bit.”
A very tough match, against a top-level team:
“It was a very difficult match because they are a strong team. But we were good at staying close point by point. We almost closed it in the fourth set, but due to a couple of invasions seen at the last minute we went to the fifth. There, however, it was a very nice reaction: being able to break away from them immediately and win the match is always a thrill.”
