With the conclusion of the final stage, the single-round group stage of the 2025 Volleyball Nations League has concluded, and all Rana Verona players participating this week have secured a spot in the Final Eight of the competition, which will take place in Ningbo Beilun, China, between Wednesday, July 30th and Sunday, August 3rd.
Darlan Souza’s Brazil confirmed their top spot, held in the previous stages of the tournament, with a slew of victories in this Japanese round. While he had come on during the first two matches, the new Verona opposite hitter made the difference against Turkey, scoring 28 points, including five aces and a winner. He was also decisive from nine meters in the match against Germany, having scored three direct points on serve. In the quarterfinals, the Brazilian national team will face hosts China.
Coach Soli’s Slovenia also achieved its goal, making the most of home court advantage, securing three wins in four matches. Rok Mozic was one of the key players, scoring double figures in every game. His best performance came in the final match against Serbia, where he tallied 24 points. Also on the court was Uros Planinsic, the latest addition to the team, who played at midfield in every game. Slovenia will face France in the next round.
