The countdown has begun for the 29th Del Monte® Coppa Italia Serie A2. Tinet Prata of Pordenone and Abba Pineto will meet in the trophy-winning match on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the PalaPrata, kicking off at 5:30 PM. A sporting battle awaits between the winter champions, favored by home-field advantage, and the team that finished second at the halfway point. This is the 11th head-to-head matchup. Tinet has won eight of the 10 head-to-head matches, including the tie-break blitz in the Del Monte® Coppa Italia Serie A3 quarterfinals during the 2021/22 season. However, Pineto has won their only head-to-head matchup this season.

The Friulian team, the top seed in the tournament, defeated Sorrento in a tie-break on their home court in a thrilling match in the quarterfinals, while in the semifinals they defeated defending champions Brescia 3-1 at home, redeeming themselves for the final they lost the previous year against the Tucani. The Abruzzo team also played two matches in their own arena, defeating Siena in three sets and then eliminating Ravenna from the tournament in four sets.
Prata boasts a Del Monte® Coppa Italia Serie A3 title won in 2021/22 in Bologna after a tough tie-break against Grottazzolina. The Friulian team is competing in its third Coppa Italia Serie A2 title. This is the fifth appearance for Abba Pineto, who are playing their third final in the tournament after losing to Taviano in 2006 and Milan in 2007. The Abruzzo team also won an A3 Italian Cup, winning it in 2022/23.
On one side, Jernej Terpin is 10 points shy of 300 for the season, 22 points shy of 300 in the Italian Cup, 27 points shy of 3,000 in his career, and eight wins shy of 2,500. Among the visiting players, Paolo Di Silvestre is seeking his 300th point of the season and the two points separating him from both 100 wins in the various Italian Cup editions and 2,500 in his career. Furthermore, Karli Allik is seven points shy of 1,000 in his career, and Matheus Krauchuk Esquivel is six wins shy of 300 for the season.
