Alexander Berger has already experienced certain matches. He’s “felt them,” he’s won them, he’s “lifted them to the sky.” Just like a trophy. Heading into the Final Four of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia Serie A3, the Austrian spiker from Belluno Volley brings a legacy few can boast: two SuperLega Coppa Italia titles won with Perugia (as well as a league title).
MEMORIES – The first, on January 28, 2018, in Bari, with a 3-1 final win against Civitanova. The second, on February 10, 2019, in Bologna, again against Civitanova, at the end of a fiercely contested match that ended in a tie-break. Two victories that marked a historic moment for the Umbrian club. “I’ll never forget those moments,” Berger says, “especially the 2018 cup, because it was also the first for the Perugia club.” A memory that isn’t just nostalgia, but an experience to be put to good use by the team.
GROUP – On Saturday, March 7th, at 6:30 pm, at the VHV Arena, Belluno Volley will face Domotek Reggio Calabria, currently top of the Blue Group, in the semifinals. This match is worth advancing to the final and requires clarity, even more than talent. “How do we approach the match? We’re a good team,” explains the spiker, “and, based on the lessons learned in the past, I think a lot depends on how we work during the week.”
