The presentation of the 2026/2027 Banca Macerata Fisiomed continues. Surprises can wait: one of the two libero jerseys—after saying goodbye to veteran Simone Gabbanelli—will once again be worn by Diego Dolcini.
Diego, a native of Osimo born in 2007, is staying true to his three-year contract and remains in the shadow of the Sferisterio after a season of stardom, earning numerous appearances, thanks in large part to his exceptional defensive skills. His availability is also commendable, highlighted by his switch to spiker, which he played in the recent BigMat Under-19 National Finals: a talent increasingly ready to blossom.
“The year just ended was very positive for both the team and individual development. I got along very well with the club, the team, and the staff. For this reason, I’m happy and satisfied to continue!” The libero number 22 confidently states.
The patience to bide his time, coupled with the knowledge that he can grow significantly with Coach Giannini’s guidance: the staff knows his talents best and is ready to unleash them next season. Learning will continue to be his mantra, especially given the caliber of the player—unveiled in the coming weeks—who will accompany him in his role next year.
Meanwhile, speaking of prospects, here’s Diego’s thoughts: “Next year we will definitely find ourselves with a fantastic team again; from an individual standpoint, my goal will be to grow further and find the consistency necessary to always be useful and functional for the team and the club.”
