Setter Francesco Zoppellari’s first official interview with Cucine Lube Civitanova. He presents himself with enthusiasm and great motivation, knowing he’s joining an ambitious and competitive environment.
What impressed you about the red and white project?
Zoppellari: “The project is strong! Over the past two years, the team has already repeatedly demonstrated its value and potential for growth. I’ve found Civitanova to be an excellent base; I can’t wait to join and contribute!”
What kind of help can you offer the team on and off the court?
“First and foremost, I’ll bring my personality and dedication. My way of living my daily life and training to achieve my goals. With many years of experience on the court, I’ll work with my teammates to ensure the team continues to grow as a collective.”
You’ve stood out in your career both as a regular and as a substitute. Do you always have “hot hands”?
It’s never easy to get into the game from the bench, especially since it means something isn’t going right. Being ready isn’t just a mental issue; your approach to game situations requires training in the gym, every day. That’s why it’s crucial to work hard.
In the SuperLega and at Lube, a competitive mentality and determination must always be part of your “carry-on.” What do you think?
Absolutely! These are characteristics that are required at this level and are easier to bring out when you assimilate the DNA of a prestigious club like Lube, accustomed to competing for everything and winning titles. History teaches us that when the going gets tough and decisive moments arrive, Civitanova is always there. At the same time, you need to lay a solid foundation with the group because when it comes to do-or-die matches, they can really make the difference.
At Civitanova, the Predators also make the difference. What kind of relationship have you built with the fans during your career?
“As an opponent, I’ve gotten to know the Lube nel Cuore fans well! The red and white supporters make their voices heard during matches. I’m the type who gets carried away by enthusiasm; I like to immerse myself in the atmosphere I play in. At first glance, I seem reserved, but I love connecting with the fans.”
